  • Students gather to kōkua and learn about Kipuka Olowalu.

    Kipuka Olowalu

    Volunteering with Kipuka Olowalu may include traditional 'āina stewardship paractices such as planting native species, removing invasive species, and working in the lo'i. Volunteer with Kipuka Olowalu

    Marine Debris Rapid Response

    Mālama Pono

    When volunteering with the Mālama Pono project, there are a range of opportunities that will take place anywhere from mauka to makai. Activities include supporting ongoing conservation efforts, out planting native species, beach cleanups, and more! Volunteer with Mālama Pono

    Hui O Ka Wai Ola

    Hui O Ka Wai Ola seeks volunteers interested in being trained in rigorous coastal water quality monitoring protocols and able to commit to long-term participation. Volunteer with Hui O Ka Wai Ola

  • MKWPʻs Outreach and Education Associate, Kayla Takakura, assists a fifth-grade student from Maui Preparatory Academy with planting a wiliwili tree.

    Mauna Kahālāwai Watershed Partnership

    MKWP manages over 50,000 acres in the West Maui Mountains to preserve native ecosystems and freshwater supply. Regular volunteer events are held at stewardship sites in Olowalu and Waihe'e. Volunteer with Mauna Kahālāwai Watershed Partnership

  • Since 2019, MNMRC has documented the presence of several types of limu in parts of North, West, and South Maui.
